About Us

Introduction

At Groupement D’Employeurs Du Mesnil, we believe that employment is more than just a contract between a worker and a company — it is the foundation of stable lives, thriving businesses, and strong communities. Since our creation in 2015, our mission has been to connect local businesses with skilled workers through a cooperative employment model that benefits everyone involved.

We are based in Blacqueville, in the Normandy region, and we work closely with employers and job seekers to create arrangements that are practical, sustainable, and fair. Our approach is rooted in the idea that by pooling workforce needs, we can provide stable jobs for individuals while giving businesses the flexibility they require to grow and adapt.

Our Purpose

The employment market can be challenging for both sides. Small and medium-sized businesses often struggle to offer full-time positions, even when they need staff regularly. Workers, on the other hand, seek stability, fair contracts, and a sense of security that short-term work cannot provide.

Groupement D’Employeurs Du Mesnil exists to bridge this gap. We take the staffing needs of several companies and combine them to create full-time or long-term roles for employees. This allows businesses to share the cost of a skilled worker while ensuring that employees enjoy consistent, reliable employment.

By acting as the legal employer, we manage all administrative, contractual, and legal obligations, allowing companies to focus on their operations while employees focus on doing their best work.

Our Story

The idea for our groupement was born out of observation and necessity. In 2015, our founders noticed a recurring issue: businesses in our region were losing out on talented people simply because they could not provide enough hours to keep them. At the same time, skilled workers were leaving for larger cities or accepting insecure jobs because no local company could meet their full-time needs alone.

The solution was simple in concept but powerful in practice: create a cooperative structure that employs workers directly and assigns them to member businesses according to demand. This model, well-established in other parts of France, had the potential to transform the local job market in Blacqueville and its surroundings.

From our first contracts, the results were clear. Businesses gained access to talent they could not otherwise afford full-time, and workers enjoyed the stability of permanent contracts (CDI) while contributing to multiple companies. Over time, our network grew, and so did our impact on the local economy.

How We Work

The process is straightforward but highly effective:

  1. Membership – Companies join our network as members, agreeing to share their workforce needs with us.
  2. Assessment – We evaluate their requirements, including skills, working hours, and seasonal variations.
  3. Recruitment – We hire employees directly, matching their skills to the combined needs of our members.
  4. Placement – Employees work across one or more companies according to a schedule that maximizes both productivity and stability.
  5. Administration – We handle all contracts, payroll, and compliance with labor laws.

This approach ensures that each business gets the right person at the right time while the employee enjoys the security and benefits of a stable job.

Our Values

Our work is guided by a set of values that shape our decisions and our relationships:

  • Collaboration – We believe that collective solutions are often stronger than individual efforts.
  • Fairness – Every decision we make is grounded in transparency and respect for both employers and employees.
  • Local Development – We are committed to keeping skills, jobs, and economic benefits within our community.
  • Sustainability – Our focus is on long-term employment and lasting professional relationships, not quick fixes.
  • Quality – We aim for excellence in matching skills to needs, ensuring satisfaction for both sides.
